Welcome to Minhwa Spirits, where we blend tradition with innovation to bring you authentic Korean soju crafted right here in Doraville, Georgia. As the first distillery and brewery in the area, we take pride in our roots and our commitment to quality.

Our Story

Founded by James Kim and Ming Han Chung, Minhwa Spirits emerged from a shared passion for reconnecting with heritage and introducing the rich flavors of Korean spirits to a broader audience. Inspired by traditional family recipes and a dedication to authenticity, we set out to create soju that honors its origins while appealing to contemporary tastes.

Our Products

We offer a range of soju expressions, each crafted with meticulous attention to detail:

Dokkaebi / 도깨비: A 17% ABV soju inspired by Korean folklore, known for its smooth and approachable profile.
Yong / 용: At 40% ABV, this expression showcases the bold and robust character of traditional soju, perfect for sipping or mixing in cocktails.
Queen Huh / 허황옥: Our unique craft gin infused with botanicals and chai, inspired by the legendary Princess Huh Hwang-ok, carrying a hearty 45% ABV.

Each Soju bottle is made using only four simple ingredients: rice, yeast, North Georgia spring water, and nuruk—a traditional Korean fermentation starter. We are committed to using no artificial sweeteners, preservatives, or additives, ensuring a pure and authentic experience in every sip.

Our Commitment to Community

Located in Doraville, a city with a rich history of Korean immigration, we are deeply connected to our local community. Our tasting room, known as the Jumak—a traditional Korean tavern—is more than just a place to enjoy our spirits. It's a communal space where we host events, showcase local artists, and serve as an incubator for other Asian American food and beverage startups. We are proud to collaborate with partners like Postern Coffee and Ganji, amplifying the voices and talents within our community.
